The south side of Mt. Dachstein impresses with an imposing 1000 meter rock face, the north is dominated by glaciers. The villages of Filzmoos and Ramsau are located in the south of the Dachstein mountain. Gosau, Hallstatt and Obertraun are north of the Dachstein mountain range.
